oversees all aspects of operations and care at Governor’s
Walk, playing an integral role in the growth and development
of the community through new programs, innovation, policy
and procedures.
Linda Meek's depth
of experience, dedication and commitment is intended to
inspire and motivate the entire Team, and constantly demonstrate
a concern for excellence in the service and care of our
residents.
Our Director
of Care
Managing the Nursing
Team here at Governor’s Walk is a key role working
closely with residents and their families to develop and
manage their personalized care plan. The Director of Care
(DOC) works tirelessly on the behalf of our residents
to ensure they are enjoying the highest quality of life
and receiving the most effective care.
The Director of Care
leads a team of Personal Care Workers, who keep the DOC
constantly abreast of residents' status to be proactive
in meeting their needs.
Our Chef
Our Chef leads the
dietary team of cooks, wait staff and kitchen staff by
reminding them that we're only as good as our last meal
served and that we must always strive to do better and
to respond to resident feedback. Under that direction,
the quality, preparation, and presentation of meals served
have been unsurpassed as demonstrated in our most recent
resident family survey results.
Our monthly meetings,
dietary meetings, daily reports, and the feedback our
Chefs receive when walking the dining rooms have all contributed
to our recent successes in this area.
Recreation
Our residents depend
on us to find the latest and greatest trip destinations,
the best entertainers, most humorous plays, most ingenious
projects and, of course, the region's best ice cream...
The Activities Coordinator has a robust spirit and is
often the source of much laughter during socials, pub
parties, mystery rides, cooking programs, Arts & Crafts,
trivia competitions, and so much more.
We have residents with
diverse needs and therefore we must create and run a diverse
and entertaining calendar for residents, gearing each
program and our choices to people of varying physical
and cognitive skill levels. The Coordinator encourages
residents to participate in activities, adapting the calendar
to attract the diverse interests of our residents, in
order to minimize any sense of isolation.
The Housekeeping Team
Our team of housekeepers ensures that
our building is always clean and smelling fresh. They
provide weekly housekeeping and linen service with a smile,
and are more than willing to go the extra mile to help
residents. They keep the bathrooms stocked, the common
rooms clutter free, the laundry fresh, and resident apartments
organized, well groomed and of course, very clean.
Maintenance
As any resident will attest, our community
could not run without maintenance. They keep our driveways
and walkways shoveled and ploughed! The maintenance representative
can fix just about anything that needs fixing. We're not
sure how they do it, but somehow maintenance always has
the answers. It is maintenance that leads our fire safety
drills, oversees elevator maintenance, and knows just
what electrical box affects which area. They are electricians,
plumbers, painters, and carpenters all rolled into one.
Our maintenance representative is available
to staff and residents with a pleasant attitude and willingness
to help, be it with repairs, or to solve the everyday
problems no one else can seem to solve!
