What qualifications
do your staff posess?
All Governor’s Walk
staff must meet a standard of knowledge required for
our communities. Our resident’s aides have all
completed a course that matches their role, such as
Licensed Practical Nurse or Personal Care Attendant
or Health Care Aide as they are sometimes referred to
as. Furthermore, all staff are provided with in-house
training on a variety of topics, including First Aid
and CPR.
What does it mean
to be ORCA approved?
ORCA stands for Ontario
Retirement Communities Association.
The Province of Ontario does
not regulate the operations of retirement residences.
ORCA is the only agency that sets standards, inspects
and accredits these residences. Not all retirement residences
are ORCA approved, only those that meet and maintain
ORCA's standards for accreditation. When searching for
a retirement residence, be sure to ask for proof of
ORCA membership. If it is not an ORCA member, it has
not been accredited.
